Fractional CRO

Still the only one who can sell? Get a head of revenue, part-time.

A fractional CRO is the step between the owner doing all the selling and hiring a full-time sales leader. I lead your revenue side part-time: the playbook, the team, and the numbers.

Signs you need one

  • Almost all your sales come from you and your network.
  • Every salesperson you've hired has been a money pit.
  • Sales stops whenever you're busy doing the work.
  • You're not ready for a full-time VP of Sales, but you can't keep doing it alone.

  2. 2Hire and trainHire against your own numbers, with a real ramp-up plan and training.
  3. 3Manage the teamWeekly pipeline reviews, call coaching and accountability.
  4. 4Own the numbersPipeline, close rate and revenue, reported to you every week.

Questions

What does a fractional CRO cost?

It depends on the size of the team and how much of my time it takes. Each engagement is a monthly base plus a share tied to results, set after we scope it together.

Fractional CRO or full-time sales manager first?

If there's no written process and no proven pipeline yet, start fractional. A full-time hire does best once the playbook works.

Does commission-only sales work?

Sometimes, but it often attracts people who can't get a base elsewhere. A playbook and a ramp plan matter more than the pay plan.
